3From 01.02.2010 to 07.02.2010 a seven day special camp was conducted at K.Nattapatti Village by NSS Unit Nos.219 & 17. In the camp, volunteers involved in various social activities like Medical Camp, Tree Plantation, Aids Awareness Programme etc2010-02-01
4From 27.01.2010 to 02.02.2010 a seven day special camp was conducted at Thuvariman Village by NSS Unit Nos.18 & 220. In the camp, the volunteers participated in activities such as, Free Medical Camp, Free Planting and Consumer Awareness2010-01-27
5Mr. R.Ranjith, Operation Executive, 108 Services, Madurai gave a special lecture on the topic “Importance of Emergency Services” on 08.01.2010. 2010-01-08
6On 06.01.2010 a Road Safety Week Awareness Rally was organized. Volunteers created awareness on driving in slow speed and using helmets. 2010-01-06

3On 08.10.2009 a one day State Level Seminar was organized on the topic “Consumer Awareness and NSS Volunteers”. More than volunteers from 20 colleges participated in the seminar. 4On 24.09.2009, NSS volunteers visited Pallar Illam (Orphanage Home) in Nagamalai and provided the inmates some snacks. 2009-09-24
5On 10.09.2009 Dr.C.Ebenesar, Department of Tamil, Govt. Arts College, Melur gave a special lecture on “,isQhpd; Nrit ,d;iwa Njit”. 2009-09-10

7On 15.07.2009 a Mega Cycle Rally was organized to create awareness regarding education. 2009-07-15
8The Blood Donors Club, in collaboration with the N.S.S. units of our college, and Government Rajaji Hospital Madurai has organized Two Mega Blood Donation Camp in the college campus on 11.07.2008 and 25.03.2009. As a mark of great service to the mankind, a total of 447 students including 50 women students with great enthusiasm donated their blood. During the camp we also helped the first year students to know their blood group at free of cost. 2009-03-25

The Blood Donor’s Club, in collaboration with the NSS units of our college, and Government Rajaji Hospital organized “TWO MEGA BLOOD DONATION CAMP” in the college campus on 13.07.2007 and 25.10.2008. As a mark of great service to the mankind, a total of 435 students including 42 women students with great enthusiasm donated their blood. During the camp we also helped the first year students to know their blood group at free of cost. The beneficiaries of this camp will be the patients from hospitals and nursing homes situated in and around the peripherals of Madurai city who are in need of quality blood for surgeries and treatments. It is planned to extend this facility to the institution in the suburbs also. 2008-10-25

1STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS : Both in the academic and non-academic fields our students brought credit to the college. They were all honoured and awarded with cash, books and medals. Sixty one endowments were created in the college to encourage students. The following is the list of students who were given silver medal of 10gm each and Rs.15,000 to N.Leebanon Poonkuil for her first rank in M.Sc. (Biochemistry) University examination of April 2005. The guidance and counselling of teachers brought such colourful results. Achievements of students in other fields were also noted and honoured. D.Ayyanar of II BCA and Dinesh Kumar II B.Sc. Physics participated in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on 26th January 2006. Their group, Tamilnadu contingent, won I prize in Prime Ministers Rally and II prize in Drill. As a result they received gold medal from Dr.P.Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India and cash award from J.Jeyalalitha, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. These two cadets were given Rs.5,000/- each and Rs.2,000/- to Lt.T.Kumar for their reputed service and for bringing the name of the college to light. The cadets of our college also attended the Army attachment camp held at Bangalore and All India Trekking camp held at Peppera, Kerala. Cadet R.Kasirajapandi won I prize in the inter-unit shooting competition. The NSS volunteers of units 13, 14 and 15 organised special camps at rural areas Ayyapanaickenpatty and Nagamalai. Our students also brought credit to the institution by winning prizes from other institution. Saras Anjeline of II B.Sc. (Biochemistry) won the 1st prize in paper presentation at Thiayagarajar College as well as at Rev. Jacob Memorial College. Arul Jose of II M.Sc. Biochemistry won the III prize in paper and model presentation at Kamarajar College, Tuticorin. Physics (SF) students got the overall shield from Mother Therasa University, Kodaikanal for their performance in the seminar. First year M.Sc. student secured the II prize for paper presentation at S.N.College, Madurai. Students of Computer Applications (SF) got the overall shield in Devankar Arts & Science College, Aruppukkottai. Computer Science and I.T. (SF) students won the overall shield for Inter-collegiate meet Info-Meet at Veerammal Paramasivan College. J.Anandkumar of III B.Com. (CA) (SF) secured III place in the inter-collegiate best physique competition. S.Suresh Pandiyan & P.Selvasrineevasan of II B.Com.(CA) (SF) have participated in One Act Play at the National level Youth Festival and in Inter-universities competition (National level) HIV aids. R.Sabareswaran of English got I rank in Proficiency Test in English conducted at the state level by the Shakespeare Institute of English, Chennai. 2005-04-01
